MEMPHIS CITY COUNSELOR THREATENED OVER SUPPORT FOR LGBT EQUALITY

Janis Fullilove, has received death threats multiple times, and even had a dead cat thrown on her lawn. The Councilwoman for Memphis is a supporter of workplace protections for lesbians and gays. The police are taking the threats seriously enough that they are patrolling the area around her home in greater numbers. Fullilove received four threatening calls on Tuesday, and all four mentioned a local non-discrimination ordinance that she supports. The ordinance would protect lesbians and gays from discrimination within the city government. Police are keeping a close eye on her and her family.
